BOKAN, — Several Kurdish activists were sentenced to long imprisonments by the Iranian Revolutionary Court, local sources report.
Five Kurdish cultural activists named as Qasim Rehimi Azer, Celal Nasri, Edris Burna, Nasr Nasri and Edris Ag were sentenced to eleven years imprisonments.
The activists had been arrested by the Iranian Intelligent Service in 2011 and were released on bail after intense investigation. However, each of them was sentenced to eleven years imprisonment by the Urmiye court.
It is being reported that another prisoner named as Ceefer Azernosh from Mirawa district of Bokan city was sentenced to 8 month imprisonments on the ground of working with one of Kurdish political parties.
Each year many people are sentenced to long detention for different reasons and many of them are brutally tortured during their imprisonments.
