MEDYA’S DEFENCE ZONES, — Murad Karayilan the president of Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) answered questions about the fax received on Saturday by lawyers for Kurdish national leader Ocalan.
“The people have chosen which actions to take to enhance the struggle for freedom and their rights. We respect the hunger strike and think that a plurality of actions should be taken,” said Karayilan.
The KCK president also added that “taking under consideration the policies of the AKP government towards both Kurdistan and Imrali and the developments at regional level, we see the coming process as a critical period for the freedom struggle of the Kurdish people. The developments to be lived within this process will obviously determine the future of our people who have been facing a slaughter pincer for a long time. The unprecedented cruel and fascist policy of repression against the whole society of Kurdistan is executing its force every day. In this regard, it is a basic and fair duty to enhance struggle in all areas both inside and outside the prisons. The struggle cannot achieve success without risking the costs of giving a struggle in such a critical process”.
Mr. Karayilan underlined, “The current process, which begun on 15 February, is a phase to witness a leadership duty of revolutionary militants in the fulfilment of duties of the Kurdish politics and our patriotic people with a great self-sacrifice. We need to ensure an extensive resistance and an absolute achievement in all areas against the total warfare we face. In this respect, our people and all patriotic-democrat circles should enhance resistance for the freedom of our leader which means a solution to the Kurdish problem and progress of freedom and peace in this territory”.
Murad Karayilan also remarked, “In all areas, all institutions and persons have the initiative to give a struggle against the repression against our leader and people in this process. The process imposes some realities which should be the base for activists to give their decision to stage acts. It is of importance to expand the commitment to leader Ocalan by means of effective acts applicable for the process”.
