BITLIS, — Turkish police attacked the hunger strikers in the building of the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) in Norşên district of Bitlis early this morning.
While Adnan Calp a hunger strike was taken into custody on the ground of arrest warrant issued for him, the protestors’ banners writing “Ez livirim” meaning I am here, were also seized by the police.
In a statement about the police raid, BDP District Chair Hakan Tadik remarked that the raid was carried out aiming to intimidate the protestors.
Tadik stressed that the hunger strike will continue until the military and political operations are ended in Kurdistan and the isolation of Kurdish national leader Abdullah Ocalan is also ended.
