Yonisi’s body buried in Bane

ibrahim-younesi-2BANE, East Kurdistan, — A funeral ceremony was held for the well-know Kurdish novelist and translator Dr Ibrahaim Yonisi in his home town Bane, after his body brought back from Tehran.

Yonisi’s body was buried in Suleman Beg Cemetery of Bane while thousands of people attended the funeral. A considerable number of Kurdish and Persian intellectuals and authors were also present.

Before the arrival of Yonisi coffin at Bane, many people from Bicar and Seqiz joined the procession taking his body back to his home town.

Ibrahim Yonisi was born in 1926 in the city of Bane in East of Kurdistan. He has translated more than 80 books from French and English into Persian. He is the author of 13 novels most of which are focused on Kurds and Kurdistan.
