AMED, Kurdish Capital, — In protest to the strict isolation of Kurdish national leader Abdullah Ocalan, a 15 year-old youngster set himself ablaze in Piyas district of Amed.
The Council of Kurdistan’s Communities Union (KCK) has many times warned the Kurds of not undertaking such a deed and instead focus on other types of protest against the Turkish colonial rule.
Ferhad Dinch a 15-year-old Kurdish youngster from Piyas district of Amed self-immolated against the strict isolation of Ocalan.
He was taken to hospital shortly after but due to seriousness of wounds he died in the hospital. Thousands of people attended his funeral.
His brother said he committed self-immolation to protest against Ocalan’s isolation that has been denied lawyers and family visit since 27 July 2011.
