NORTH KURDISTAN, — The office of pro-Kurdish Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) in Denizli was raided by unknown assailants on Thursday night.
Glasses of the office are reported to be broken but no casualty is reported since nobody was inside the office at the time.
There is no concrete information in regard to identity and number of assailant/s who drove their car away soon after the attack, said BDP Provincial Chair Sidik Eren basing on the statements of eye witnesses.
In the meantime, in a simultaneous raid by Turkish police carried out in four regions at least 44 people have been taken into custody within the frame of the KCK operation.
Police raided offices in Batman, Amed, Siirt and Mersin. It is understood the operation is still ongoing.
In Batman at least 20 people have been taken into custody. Most of them are members of Batman City Council.
In Amed many houses were raided and at least 7 people have been taken into custody. Among them BDP Ercan Aslan and Istanbul BDO deputy Sabahat Tuncel’s brother Ertugrul Tuncel and his wife Evin Tuncel.
In the past three days a total of 108 people have been taken into custody
