EUTCC, — The EUTCC in cooperation with GUE/NGL (EP) will host its 8th annual conference at the European Parliament December 7-8, 2011.
The main topic for discussion will be the prospects for writing a new, more democratic Turkish constitution that would help solve the Kurdish problem.
Other important issues concerning the Kurdish issue in Turkey include the impact of human rights, the Arab Spring, the rise and fall of the Kurdish Initiative in Turkey, the South African experience, perspectives from the International Crisis Group, European devolution experiences, gender equality, and the role of Abdullah Ocalan, among others.
The Conference will open with a new taped presentation from Archbishop Desmond Tutu, and include such important speakers as Leyla Zana, Ahmet Turk, former US Congressman Lincoln Davis (the former co-chair of the US Congressional Kurdish Causus), Ihsan Dagi, Hugh Pope, and Kathryn Cameron Porter, among many others.
