WAN, — Among the survivors of Wan earthquake, two Kurdish children died and two others were injured when a fire erupted in a tent set up on Friday.
The incident took place in a tent in Karpuzalan village. The fire was reportedly caused by a heating stove in the Tolukan family’s tent.
Twelve-year-old Bahar Tolukan and 6-year-old Ismail Tolukan were killed in the fire, and 12-year-old Mikail Tolukan and 2-year-old Kerem Tolukan received serious burns.
Thousands of quake victims are taking shelter in tents in Wan after the province was hit by two earthquakes in the past two months. The two quakes had magnitudes of 7.2 and 5.6, killing 644 people and leaving thousands of others homeless.
