MALATYA, — Dismembered body of 24 Kurdish guerrillas who lost their lives in battle with Turkish army are still held in Malatya hospital. This photo shows the bodies of only four, others not yet published.
During the earthquake of Wan city, not only Turkish government failed to respond to the needs of people, it also rejected emergency relief from more than 30 countries and continued its military operation in Kurdistan.
Selahedin Demirtash co-chair of Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) strongly condemned the killing of 24 guerrillas and regarded it as savagery and a war crime. “Both the photos of bodies and the information we received show that all bodies were subjected to torture and torn apart. Before anything else, this is savagery and a war crime and the responsible of this pain are those who act with the feeling of revenge and making people suffer. The feeling of such a great revenge and the hate can’t be explained with humanity. Beyond a war, this is an event of taking revenge with a great savagery,” said Demirtash.
Kurdish MP of Bitlis Husamettin Zenderlioglu said while seeing the bodies: “Violence isn’t enough to tell what was applied on those bodies. I am ashamed of humanity”.
Bitlis MP Mr. Zenderlioglu stated that the Prosecutor refused to give the identity information of the casualties who-he claimed-weren’t carrying identity cards. Only one body at least has been identified as being of guerrilla Ebru Muhi Kancı who was born in Kars.
Zenderlioglu remarked that the bodies, dressed in military uniforms, were entirely burnt and fractionated. “I can’t find a word to express how a person can do this to another”, said Zenderlioglu.
It should be noted that Turkish government has well exploited the appellation of “terrorism” against the Kurdish guerrillas and not hesitated to apply any sort of inhuman method fitting well with the definition of state-terrorism, against the Kurdish guerrillas as well as the Kurdish political and civil activists.
