Around 100 Turkish troops killed and wounded

guerriglierikurdiHAKKARI, — Turkish army suffered a heavy blow at the hands of Kurdish guerrillas. Although Turkish media reported 26 killed and 22 wounded, HPG claimed that around 100 Turkish troops have been killed and wounded.

According to HPG (People Defence Forces) statement 5 guerrillas have also lost their lives.

The guerrillas of HPG had simultaneously attacked several military and police buildings in the Çukurca district and Hakkari’s city centre last night.

According to Firat News the Hakkari Governor Muammer Turker confirmed the attacks but gave no further information about casualties.

Chief of General Staff General Necdet Ozel and force commanders travelled to Hakkari while the Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who was scheduled to leave the country on Wednesday for an official visit to Kazakhstan, cancelled his trip.
