NORTH KURDISTAN, — The counter-attacks of the Kurdish guerrillas against the Turkish army have taken a sharp increase. Eight Turkish troops were killed and three wounded only in the last twenty four hours.
The Press and Communication Centre of People’ Defence Forces (HPG) explained in a statement that after a series of raids on the positions Turkish army in Idir, Amed, and Ilk of Sirnak province, they have killed 8 Turkish troops.
According to HPG statement the Kurdish guerrillas raided a military compound in Gewer village in the neighbouring of Agri-Bazid and killed 4 troops.
An attack was simultaneously launched on Koxe compound in Liche region of Amed province, which led to the death to 2 troops.
In the meantime another military stronghold in Ilk district came under the attack of HPG forces leading to the death of further 2 militaries.
The Gendarmerie headquarters in Chinar of Amed province was also raided by the Kurdish guerrillas. Three Turkish troops were wounded in the attack.
