Eight members of BDP arrested

arrestMERSIN, — Ten members of the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) were taken into custody five days ago in Mersin and transferred to the Adana Court yesterday.

Eight of them have been arrested for allegedly “acting on behalf of an illegal organization” and “organizing people for the organization.”

Among the detainees BDP Assembly Member Seyithan Kaya and DOKH Activist Bedriye Bukte have been released by the board of Adana Court, while other detainees BDP Mersin Provincial Chairs Nurettin Atug and Osman Aka, Akdeniz Municipality Assembly Members Selim Ekinci and Hasan Arık, Necmettin Pala, Nasır Ozmen and Cuma Takir and one unnamed have been arrested and sent to Adana F-Type Closed Prison.
