TEHRAN, — Commander in chief of the Iranian Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), pointed to their latest offensives against the positions of the Kurdish guerrillas and said that such operations would be re-launched in the future.
In 16 July and 2 September the IRGC launched cross border operations against the Defense Regions of Medya controlled by the guerrillas of Free Life Party of Kurdistan (PJAK). In both cases they suffered heavy losses and forced to retreat.
Mohammed Ali Jafari the commander-in-chief of the IRGC said in a ceremony held in Tehran for their slain troops that such offensives were launched to secure borders and they will be re-launched in the future.
Once again Ali Jafari persisted on the violence-based policy of the Iranian regime against PJAK and labeled the party as the work of the foreign forces.
In the meantime the Islamic Revolution Guards, branch of Selmas city, urged upon the locals to mobilize against PJAK and take up arms against the organization. By doing this, the IRGC seeks to divide the Kurdish society and set the Kurdish people against one another.
