MEDYA REGIONS, — The presidency of the KCK (Kurdistan’s Democratic Confederation) made a strident statement upon the rejection of Ocalan’s meeting with his lawyers on the grounds of “bad weather conditions”.
KCK remarked that Ocalan represents a “leadership” that has exhibited a unilateral effort for the last 18 years, noting that severing Ocalan’s ties with the outside world is “a policy of repression and violence as well as an immoral attitude and an ugly policy”.
Evaluating the prevention of Ocalan’s usual weekly meeting as a “dishonourable process”, KCK Executive Council Presidency warned that the AKP government is playing with fire. It called upon all the sensitive circles “to say stop to this course which will dynamite Turkey’s future”.
KCK’s statement is as follows;
Instead of considering our Leadership’s call which paved the way for peace, the AKP government has once more exhibited its attitude towards the problem by preventing the lawyers’ meeting with Ocalan. In a process when our Leadership said ‘I can solve the problem within a week’, it is meaningful that the AKP, which plans to introduce very different strategies and practices to end terror, applies to such a sense. It is clear with these very different strategies and practices, Erdogan refers to war and attack against the Kurdistan Freedom Movement. One of the main targets is to take our Leadership under isolation.
It shouldn’t be forgotten that Leader Apo is the only person who can enable the peace of Kurdish and Turkish peoples in Kurdistan. It is an immoral approach and an ugly policy to prevent his meeting with lawyers, which is his legal right.
However, it is seen that instead of peaceful-democratic means to solve the problem, the AKP government has decided to develop its elimination policy by enriching its special war methods and including some collaborative circles in this policy. In connection with this, the AKP’s approach to the democratic-legal representatives of Kurdish politics, who were arrested and detained under KCK operations, doesn’t give them a right to express themselves in their mother tongue. Besides, the trial was most recently brought to the agenda with the prosecutor’s demand to refer the KCK case to another court.
This attitude is nothing but a colonialist attitude developed against the will, politics and existence of the Kurdish people. The AKP government is playing a very dangerous game as it has initiated a new period of war with its violence policy which aims to seize control through pressure, torture, massacre and elimination that were tried widely in the past.
As the Kurdistan Freedom Movement, we once again declare to public that the approach to Leader Apo is the most sensitive point of us and that we will give our most hard-hitting response to all kinds of possible attacks on him. We are calling on our patriotic people to be aware towards these policies of the AKP government and to raise their voices and say stop to this war policy by displaying their social reactions. We are also calling on all political circles, institutions and individuals, who are on the side of peace and democracy in the Kurdish question, to stand against these dishonourable violence policies of the AKP government and to protect the dream of our peoples to live together in a free and equal way.”
