Five Kurds killed in Damascus demonstrations

protest_syriaDAMASCUS, — According to Kurdish Youth Gathering in Damascus Co-ordinating Committee, at least five Kurds were killed by Syria security forces yesterday, dozens were wounded including women and the elderly, electricity was cut, roads were blocked and homes were raided in assaults by security patrols after the massive demonstrations that took place in Damascus on Friday – ‘Prisoners of Freedom’ day on 15 July 2011.

As night fell, security forces began to invade the neighbourhood Kikiya in Rakn al-Din.

The known names of martyrs so far are:

Naim Mohammed Bandi

Omar Abdul-Jabbar Ismail

Ghazwan Alserawan

Zardasht Wanley

Soro Afrini

 

Several sources report that forty-one people are known to have died across Syria yesterday.
