DEFENCE REGIONS OF MEDYA, — In a statement concerning two soldiers and one health worker who had been captured by the HPG (People’s Defence Forces), the HPG said; “The captured of soldiers are part of a counter-alliance force putting pressure and guilty of torture against the people in Kurdistan.”
HPG reported that the weapons and documents belonging to the soldiers have been confiscated.
HPG sources have pointed out that this kind of events could happen with the aim of preventing attacks.
As reported by Diyarbakir Governor Mustafa Toprak the car carrying a non commissioned officer, a special sergeant and a health official along the Diyarbakir-Lice highway around 9:45 p.m. on Saturday had been stopped by HPG members. The soldiers are reportedly from the Lice 2nd Mechanized Brigade and the health official works at a hospital in Genc, Bingol province.
