QENDIL, — Despite the extension of non-active period adopted by the Kurdish resistance movement in East Kurdistan, the Iranian Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), has initiated a large scale operation in the regions of Qendil.
More than 10,000 troops are reported to have been engaged in the operation. They are being stationed in Kani Cenge and Martyr Harun regions.
The reports have revealed the establishment of 7 military strongholds in those regions.
In the meantime heavy shelling of the regions of Pirelok, Chalawan, Tirshinan, Sekanyan, Mirgesur, Kodo, Kani Sipi, and Ser Swel have been sustained unabatedly.
The Iranian artillery had also shelled Qendil Mountain regions on 18th and 21st June,
As a result of such offensive a great number of livestock of the local farmers have been perished and many of the locals were forced to leave their dwellings.
Cebar Yawer the spokesman for Peshmerge (Kurdish Special Forces in South Kurdistan) lashed out the Iranian and Turkish authorities for violating the Iraq’s sovereignty and the sustained mortar attacks of South Kurdistan.
It should be noted that Iran and Turkey struck an accord for the join operation against the Kurdish resistance movement and they have already started to accomplish it.
In the meantime the Press and Publication Centre of HPG (People’s Defence Forces) released a statement in which it outlined the ranges of military operations the Turkish army has accomplished in North Kurdistan.
According to HPG’s statement Turkish army launched an operation on 26th June in the region of Saray of Van district in which it was confronted with the Kurdish guerrillas.
Along with the refutation of the Turkish press, HPG stated that Turkish army lost three personnel.
Turkish army has also embarked on further operations in the regions of Gur of Culemerg district.
