DEFENCE REGIONS OF MEDYA, — Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) released a written statement and labelled the Election Board (YSK) decision to prevent Hatip Dicle from entering parliament as an act of war against the Kurds.
The KCK called all Kurdish and Turkish voters to make their voices heard by the Turkish government.
The organisation called Turkish government to intervene and make the necessary amendment to give Hatip Dicle his right to represent his voters in the Turkish parliament.
The statement said the decision is a direct provocation against Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan’s efforts to start a dialogue with the Turkish state. KCK said YSK’s decision is against political ethics.
KCK warned that the results of the decision could be destructive for a possible peace process and called Turkey to correct the “political mistake”.
The organisation said it will respect Peace and Democracy Party’s decision against the cancellation of Hatip Dicle’s membership.
Hatip Dicle, who is still in prison, was elected to the new Turkish parliament in the general election on 12 June. Turkey’s Election Board stripped him off his electoral rights and declared he won’t be a part of Turkish parliament.
