Iran: Two people executed in public

iran-map-_executionNISHABUR, Iran, — Two people who had been held in Nishabur central prison were executed in public during the morning hours.

According to IRNA the head of Nishabur Judiciary confirmed the execution and declared that the convicts were excused of committing rape.

Mohamed M known as Meysem, and Mokhtar I, were executed on Thursday morning in Nishabur district. The charge against them is reported as rape but nothing about their ages has been mentioned in the report.

To justify the execution, the Iranian regime fabricates different charges for the detainees. Many political prisoners have been executed in the past and introduced to the public as of rapists or drug-dealers.

This case increases the execution toll to 259 people in 2011.
