BISMIL, North Kurdistan, — To denounce the prohibition of 12 Kurdish candidates from running for the election in June, Kurdish inhabitants of Bismil in Diyarbakir province attended a press conference, report said today.
Turkish police forces attacked the Kurdish attendants with live ammunition killing one and injuring several. The attack triggered protests in the city.
According to the local sources Ibrahim Uruch was dead by the gunshot and several others were injured, one of whom is reported to be in life-threatening condition.
