NORTH KURDISTAN, — A new style of peaceful campaign has put into the agenda of the Kurdish civil societies in North Kurdistan. ‘Democratic Solution Tents’ were pitched in various Kurdish districts as well as some Turkish cities.
According to Firat News Agency the Democratic Solution Tent was not allowed in Antalya with the “governor’s decision”, while in the districts of Dersim, Istanbul, Mus, Van, Adana and Doğubayazıt, Tents were pitched and were visited by people along the night.
DOGUBEYAZIT
While the Democratic Solution Tent in Doğubayazıt (Bazid) District of Ağrı left six days behind, support visits continue to the tent which was also visited by Dogubayazit Mayor Canan Korkmaz, Diyadin Mayor Celal Tanriverdi, Patnos Mayor Yusuf Yilmaz, BDP Ağrı Provincial Head Halil Aksoy, BDP administrators, district heads and CSO representatives. A new additional tent has been put up in the district from necessity.
ISTANBUL
While the Democratic Solution Tent in Demirkapı Neighbourhood of Bağcılar was visited by supporters along the night, the Kurdish citizens at the tent discussed about the current subjects on the agenda, chanted slogans in favour of PKK Leader Abdullah Ocalan and sang their songs. A group of youngsters calling themselves ‘Self-defence force’ kept guard around the neighbourhood during the night.
DERSIM
While support visits continue to the Democratic Solution Tent in Dersim which was put up at Seyit Rıza Square 5 days ago, the tent was visited by hundreds of students studying at Tunceli University, as well as Dersim Mayor Edibe Şahin and many representatives of civil society organizations. The reading of Kurdish national leader, Abdullah Ocalan’s Road Map at the tent was continued by the establishment of a discussion platform. The guard of the tent was relieved by journalists from Moğultay Neighbourhood.
ADANA
The tent in Ova Neighborhood of Seyhan district was visited by many including Eğitim Sen Branch Head Karuman Karoca, Haber-Sen Branch Secretary Özgür Kösele and IHD Adana Branch administrators. Speaking at the tent, Eğitim Sen Adana Branch Secretary Özgür Kösele remarked they will as Eğitim-Sen stand by Kurdish institutions in their dignified struggle, adding that Kurdish people make themselves heard here against ruthless policies of the AKP. Kösel demanded a solution to the Kurdish problem for not making mothers cry any more.
VAN
The guard of the Democratic Solution Tent in Van was relieved by BDP Erciş, Çelebibağı, Çaldıran district organizations and Cumhuriyet, Cevdetpaşa, Bahçivan, Hafıziye, Şabaniye and Seyit Fehim Arvasi neighborhood committees after the guard of provincial council members, MKM, Abdurrahman Gazi, Yalı and Semsibey, Altıntepe and İskele neighborhoods and BDP Edremit District Organization. Speaking during the relief, BDP Van City Administrator Ahmet Enterili said they will continue their acts in various ways until the actualisation of their demands. Enterili, noting that all the Kurdish people must adopt the tents, indicated that Kurds are going through a significant process when everyone should take an active role.
MUS
The Democratic Solution Tent in Bulanık District was visited and supported by Kurdish citizens who gave support to Bulanık BDP District Organization, Bulanık and Malazgirt mayors and the mayors of the towns who kept the guard of the tent.
ANTALYA
The Democratic Solution Tent which was wanted to put up in front of BDP District building in Güneş Neighborhood of Kepez County was not permitted by police who prevented BDP members’ putting up the tent. While about 200 people gathered in front of the building after the prevention, BDP Provincial Chairman Ihsan Nergiz made a call for the sit-in act in front of the building.
