PYD: Proclamation to the Syrian public opinion

PYD_logoPYD, — It has been reported that the repressive forces of the Syrian regime has raided the campus of Omranyeh mosque where the people of city of Darra, were protesting against the Syrian regime. This armed attack on civilian has caused dozens of victims amongst them dead and wounded, with continuing confrontations. Despite tenuous announcements have been made according to Syrian officials to refrain from the use of violence and bullets against the Syrian people!

We hereby emphasize the need of respect to the will of democracy to all entities of Syrian society, and respect for holy places that are protected by international and ethical laws and should not be raided for any reason.
Therefore, we perceive that the oppressive forces who attacked  peaceful civilians in the worship premises is not complying with the ethics of the Syrian society and the culture of the Middle East and international customs and laws, especially when they only asked for their legitimate democracy.

We are in PYD (Democratic Union Party),  Kurdish movement in western Kurdistan and Syria, sending our condolences to the families of the victims, and  wishing  a prompt recovery to the wounded, and at the same time we demand the Syrian authorities to respect the people’s will of democracy, and the use of dialogue and negotiation to solve problems and meet the demands of democracy for the Syrian people, including the will of the Kurdish people that recently appeared evident in the celebration of Newroz 2011.
