MERDIN, North Kurdistan, — To practise the project of democratic self-rule, as postulated by Kurdistan Democratic Confederation (KCK), the Kurdish people in Northern Kurdistan (Turkey) have established local assemblies to organise their own affairs.
According to our news sources, three local assemblies were established in the region of Nesibin of Merdin district.
Efforts for the establishment of democratic self-rule are continuous in Northern Kurdistan and have produced positive outcomes.
In the meantime one million and 100 thousand people singed a petition demanding education in Kurdish language. The signatures were all sent to Turkish Parliament.
