SEMZINAN, Northern Kurdistan, — Despite the extension of unilateral ceasefire on the side of Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), Turkish military operations are regularly carried out in Kurdistan, report said on Monday.
Turkish army is conducting a military operation against Kurdish guerrillas in Semzinan a district of Hakkari province.
Local sources said that Turkish army units moved to Derecik, a town near Semzinan, and took positions in nearby Yaylapınar and Bogaz villages.
Twenty military vehicles were seen carrying soldiers to the operation zone.
Turkish army yesterday bombed the Basiyan valley nearby the operation zone and a forest fire broke out as a result of the bombing.
According to ANF’s statistics Turkish army conducted at least 80 military operations against Kurdish guerrillas since 13 August, when the PKK declared its 7th unilateral ceasefire.
29 Kurdish guerrillas were killed in result of the operation.
Turkish army also launched 125 artillery attacks against guerrilla positions in South Kurdistan. Turkish helicopters bombarded guerrilla positions for four times.
9 Kurdish civilians were killed in a bomb attack in Hakkari in September and a Kurd was seriously wounded during cross border bombing to Haftanin.
It should be noted that after 1954, apart from the Korean War in1949-52 and the invasion of Cyprus in 1974, the Turkish Army operations have continued to be exclusively against the Kurds.
Turkish crimes against Kurdish people have gone beyond imagination. In the footage below Turkish soldiers were filmed while dragging on the ground and kicking the bodies of two Kurdish guerrillas who had lost their life in fighting.
