ISTANBUL, — Kurdistan Freedom Falcons (TAK) claimed responsibility for the bomb attack in Istanbul in Taksim Square.
TAK has fiercely criticised PKK (Kurdistan Workers Party) for the extension of ceasefire declared on 31th October.
Kurdistan Freedom Falcons (TAK) claimed responsibility for the bomb attack in Taksim Square against Turkish policemen which left 32 wounded.
In the statement TAK confirmed the identity of the bomber as Vedat Acar (Derves) and said that Acar is one of the commanders of TAK.
TAK had also claimed responsibility for the attacks against tourist areas in 2006 that killed two and wounded 47 civilians.
The origin of TAK remains unclear but it’s alleged that they split from the PKK when they became dissatisfied with the group’s tactics.
TAK has fiercely criticised the PKK for its mild policies toward the Turkish regime.
TAK had previously warned of such attacks and asked the foreign tourists not to go to Turkey.
