ALEPPO, Western Kurdistan, — Syrian Committee for Human Rights – MAD reports that the following people have been summoned to court for trial in the case no. 7233 for 2010, before a first military judge in Aleppo, on 14 October 2010.
These people were arrested on 2 November 2007 in the Kobani, Aleppo, when there was a protest by the masses in relation to the Turkish intervention in Kurdistan region of Iraq. They were released on 2 May 2008 by the military public prosecutor. The first individual military judge in Aleppo decided that is was a criminal case because of the description, and transferred the case to the secondary military investigating judge in Aleppo and then it went to the third military judge in Aleppo who issued the decision in this case:
“The fact is that the crime attributed to the defendants is to incite riots, and the imposition of sentencing is covered by the general amnesty, as it was committed before 23 February 2010. The offence of trying to truncate part of Syrian territory and annex it to a foreign country has not been established.’
It is most likely that the defendants will receive a pardon and the case will be terminated.
