Discrimination against Kurds comes from every dimension in Iran

EASTERN KURDISTAN, Iran — Kurds in Eastern Kurdistan are deprived from all their basic human rights and it also implemented inside the prisons against the Kurdish political and Human Rights advocates.

The social and political Kurdish prisoners are deprived from their very basic needs as a prisoner and even are treated badly by the jailers. The Iranian prisons do not even observe their own law and regulations and by doing this, Kurds are oppressed twice. The worth type of torture is experienced by the Kurdish prisoners.

Although Iranian Islamic regime’s constitution contains some citizenship rights, citizenship covers just those people who are considering themselves as Persians and denying their own identity. There is no right for Kurds to be on leave such as Persians and the roles are so restricted for them. Accordingly, the 3 Kurds, who were arrested with the charge of working with a Kurdish political party, are not allowed to have some days off the prison even with a very expensive pledge. Calal Kasnezani, Dawod Ryahi and Mohammad Hardangi are in Sagez Prison for 7 months and have been sentenced to 2 years in prison.

This is while according to the 34 paragraph of Iranian regulations for prisoners, every prisoner is allowed to have a conditional off from prison for a short period if they spend half their sentence; however, this does not apply for Kurds.
