Ceasefire depends on Turkish government’s seriousness:

QANDIL, Kurdistan–In a statement made by the head of the executive committee of the democratic confederation of Kurdistan stated that the Turkish government and authorities have approach the ceasefire process more effectively, and he also stated that the state have to take necessary steps, if Turkish government willing to turn unilateral ceasefire into the bilateral. On August 13th KCK (Democratic Confederation of Kurdistan) declared unilateral ceasefire lasts till 20th September with the hope to bring an end to the war and solve the Kurdish question peacefully and democratically.

The period between 12 and 20 September is very important. AKP government and the state should take concrete and genuine steps. Said Karaylan.

Kurdish national liberation movement entered a new phase by forming and introducing Democratic autonomy’s form of governing to the Northern Kurdistan: Karaylan said:

In the statement the head of KCK said that the ignorance of the ceasefire means that the Turkish state is rejecting it, which it means that the Turkish officials insist on the denial policies against the Kurds.

Further to that he stated that the Kurdish question can only be solved by entering into dialogue and constructive negotiation. However, if Turkey continuous to use aggressive violence and pursues violence opt, we rather resist it and declare democratic autonomy.

Karayilan further stated that democratic autonomy is based more self-governance than mere ethnicity. Restricting central government will give more opportunities for empowering the local authorities and the locals to take part in decision making. added Karayilan.

Karayilan reiterated his call for boycotting the constitution referendum and said neither pro- nor anti-constitution parties accept the Kurdish reality. Thus, it would not change the Kurdish situation.
