Mass killing of Kurds as a result of Khomeini’s (Jihad) declaration against the Kurds:

EASTERN KURDISTAN, Iran–31 years ago, after the emergence of the Islamic ruling state, which was led by the ideological and spiritual leader Khomeini, all the Iranian nations were on the view that a just government will be established by the new regime. The Iranian nations which revolted against the totalitarian regime of Shah in 1979 were aimed to establish democratic society that all Iranian nations directly participate in decision making.

However, the notions of the clerics were flatly contrary to what the Iranian nations were aiming for. As soon as the clerics secured their rulings and power, started to wipe out and eliminate all political and social perspectives which were contrary to the Khomeini’s Islamic ideology.

Khomeini’s initial oppressing policy was toward the Kurds. On 18/08/1979 Khomeini declared Jihad against the Kurds, which was resulted in mass killings of the Kurdish people. Soon after the Jihad declaration by the Khomeini against the Kurds, Iranian revolutionary guards led by Mustafa Chamaran were sent to the Kurdish cities and towns to perform their ideological and spiritual leaders demand.

Initial victims were the people of Pawa, on 18/08/1979, 11 Kurdish men and women were executed in Dezil Abad prison without being tried in a fair and just trial.

7- Mozafar Fatahi

8- Mohammad Ezati

10- Azarnush Mahdawian

11- Asghar Behnood

 

In addition to that, just a day after the executions of the 11 men and women, 7 more men were shot died in the same prison, their identities is as follow.

1- Haji Afrasiyab

2- Abdulwahab Malak Shahi

3- Amadadin Naseri

4- Abdulkarim Karimi

5- Mohammad Naqeshbandi

6- Aziz Moradi

7- Morad Zolfaqar

 

It is important to highlight that the Khomeini’s declaration of Jihad (Holy War) against the Kurds, still on force, but it has adopted different forms and performed in variety of ways by the current government.
