Iranian regime’s insistence to intensify the militarization in Urmiye and Kirmashan provinces suggesting a new phase of imposing war on Kurds in East Kurdistan.
Abdolreza Mesri PM of Kirmashan in an interview with ISNA announced about extraordinary salary and benefits special to the war zone for military and law enforcement forces in Kirmashan. According to the same PM, Mohammad Bagheri, the general staff of the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran has approved this request.
Mesri added, the army, revolutionary guard corps, air, and law enforcement forces will be granted extra salary for serving in operation areas. He also mentioned the general staff of the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran has approved the inclusion of four districts of Kozeran, Mahidasht, Bilawar, and Firuzabad as a war zone.
It is worth mentioning that the Iranian regime has started a new phase of militarizing East Kurdistan by creating military bases, transferring heavy and semi-heavy armaments, military maneuvers, widespread arrests and promoting hirelings.
On 28 August 2019, East Kurdistan Protection Units (YRK) in an announcement reported the non-stop flying of spying drones of the Iranian regime over the sky of Bane (Baneh). Earlier YRK also published reports for the public opinion regarding military movements of the Iranian military in highlands of Shano and Kosalan.
