IRAN, — While the Committee for Drug Tackling declared the average age of drug addicts as 29, according to figures published by Biology Faculty of Tehran University, the average age of drug addicts fall between 15 and 17 in Iran, Sherq News reported.
According to this report at least 300 minors become drug-addict each day in Iran.
The report also points that the average age is dropping and thus drug addiction is seriously threatening the lives of children in Iran.
In the meantime, over 49 percent of the Iranian students do smoke either cigarettes or other types of narcotic materials.
According to another report by the Legal Medicine Centre, in the first seven months of 2011, over 2169 people have died of drug-consuming in Iran.
Similar situation is in effect in the East of Kurdistan and the wide-spread consumption of drugs has seriously threatened the live of people.
The province of Kirmashan is one of those areas where the drug consumption has become endemic. Among the other provinces of Kurdistan, Sine is the second where hit by the phenomenon.
Not only the Iranian regime is not taking a single step to solve the issue; instead it has supported various mafia style bands to distribute the narcotics among the Kurdish youths to dilute the Kurdish society.
