KMMK:
Saturday, March 27, 2021 “Hossein Kamangar”, a civil activist from Kameran, was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
This civil activist was facing the execution and the prosecutor had demanded his execution.
The first branch of the Iranian Revolution Court in the Sna after holding several meetings and hearing their attorneys defines, issued 15 year prison sentences for him.
The verdict issued by the court was given in writing to his lawyer, Mr. Amir Ahmadi.
The Iranian government’s prosecutor’s office in Sna had requested the execution of him at request of Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and kept secret that he would be hanged on trumped-up charges.
It is worth mentioning that Mr. Amir Ahmadi and Mr. Saleh Nikbakht, Mr. Kamangar’s lawyers were able to dismiss most of the charges and dissuade the court from issuing the death sentence.
The Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and the Prosecutor’s Office had accused Hossein Kamangar of “uprising against the I.R. Iran’s government of membership in the Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK).”
It should be noted that Mr. Kamangar’s case has been examined in the Revolution Court of Sna, presided over by two judges named “Saeedi” and “Omidi”.
Hossein Kamangar was arrested on February 2021 by agents’ intelligence service in the Sna without a court order and with physical violence, and was transferred to an intelligence detention center.
This citizen has repeatedly denied the accusations and stated that it is a case of security institutions.
