A group of Kurdish activists, named themselves APOist Women and Youth, lit Newroz fire in Tehran.
APOist Women and Youth declared a message and stated: “We congratulate Kurdish leader “Rêber APO” (Abdullah Öcalan), the people of Rojhelat as well as the people of Iran and everybody else celebrating this day of Newroz and Kurdish new year. On the occasion of the Newroz, we ask all the people of Iran to unite their ranks for their democratic demands.”
APOist Women and Youth condemned the attacks of KDP-Iraq in Şengal and they mentioned “Attacking Şengal doesn’t serve the Kurdish aim for freedom but instead helps the occupiers to repress people even more.”
They ended their celebration of Newroz with the slogans of “Long live Leader APO”, “Long live resistance of Şengal” and “Women, Life, Freedom”.
