Newroz has always had a special place among Kurdish people and their enthusiasm all over the Kurdistan. The Kurds would rather the first day of spring to embrace natural as rescue from barbarism and oppress. On the first day of spring The Kurds treasure Newroz and to do this, they light the fires in order of delivering from bondage. This year, Newroz in Rojhelat (eastern Kurdistan) matched the Bakur (northern Kurdistan). Rojhelat people lit the fires in many places. Men and women gathered round the campfire and danced.
APOist Youth of Merîwan, in a manifesto paid their great compliments to Kurdish nation and Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan. Also, they honored the martyrs who kept Newroz fire lighting.
On 19th March in many different places of the cities and villages, APOist Youth of Merîwam city welcomed spring and Newroz with lighting fires and dancing. Accordingly youth of Merîwan beside lighting fires, blockading main roads and inviting people to join the party, also waved YRK (Defense Units of East Kurdistan) and KCR (Youth Community of East Kurdistan) and PKK (Kurdistan Workers’ Party) flags, as well as slogans of “Long live leader APO” brought happiness and joyful among people.
And also APOist Youth of Merîwan congratulated Democratic Federalism in Rojava and Northern Syria, and they stressed their support to peoples’ resistance in Bakur of Kurdistan.
Balek
Also Newroz festival in Balek a region of Merîwan county was brilliantly prepared and thousands people joined to light fires.
Attending many thousand men, women and youth People of Sine, with slogans such as “Long live leader APO”, “Martyrs are immortal”, “Resistance is life” just celebrated Newroz in Qesriyan village of Sine county. According to local sources over ten thousand gathered and met each other in Qesriyan village.
According to human rights organization sources, in return of people and families from Newroz festival, they were stopped, investigated and searched by Iranian regime’s army forces, it seems as though, Iranian regime had fears from APOism movement in Rojhelat, so they arrested few attendees of the Qesriyan Newroz festival.
Pilingan
People from Pilingan, a village of Sine county, celebrated Newroz traditional festival with lighting fires and waving torches on the altitude of village.
Also in other regions of Rojhelat such as Kirmaşan and Hewraman people celebrated Newroz under the tight control of security forces of Iranina regime.
