Raiding temple of Yarsan in Kirmaşan

ANF, ROJHELAT ─  The unique temple of Yarsan followers in Arwînawa (Eslamabad-e Gharb) targeted by an ultra Islamist group in coordination with security forces of Iran. Cemxane (Jam Khaneh) is a temple for such a religion followers. It is a temple for gathering Yarsan followers where are having oblation, ceremony and funeral proceeding in such a place. The ceremony of followers worship is named Jam (Cem in Kurdish).

Cemxane is a temple where they play Kurdish tanbur while they read notes. The mustache is one of their honorable symbol, but the Islamic republic of Iran has not given them recognition yet, So they are deprived to be hired on government offices such as parliament’s position, military posts and study in high educate level.

Soltan Eshagh was cornerstone of Yarsan religion in the sixth century in Hawraman. The followers, mostly live in Kirmaşan province, Lorestan, Hamadan and few villages around Miandoab. The faith of Yarsan is a right gnostic of a religion which has about two million followers in Iran and most of them are based in Rojhelat of Kurdistan.

A member of Yarsan rights advocates told Kurdistan Human Rights Association: During the last few days some adherent of Heshmatola Felahet Pisheh, parliament member in Eslamabad-e Gharb made a joyful carnival, but as Yarsan followers supported another candidate by name of Jalaliyan that’s why Yarsan were insulted such as making fake mustache, ridiculing picture of Yarsan elder, abusing, disturbing and also attacking to some of their followers in the street, this caused a huge Yarsan protest.

According to this report, those people were backed by Iranian regime forces at the time of the attack. They used slogans against Yarsan such as: “This rubbish sect has to be eliminated”. Simultaneously attacking to Eslamabad-e Gharb’s temple, they scraped and descended upon some Yarsan followers who protested such a target.

According to witnesses in the region, most of those people walk freely in the city in order to indignity and attack Yarsan followers. Just before the rising revolution in 1978, most of Yarsan citizens were based in Eslamabad-e Gharb. Within centralization of Islamic Republic of Iran, many of Yarsan citizens just moved out and migrated to the Kurdistan region because of besiege by the Islamic republic of Iran agent and extremist Shia Muslim and most of their temples were destroyed by the same people.

According to HRANA reports, the 27th February hundreds Shia members just targeted the unique temple of Yarsan minority inEslamabad-e Gharb which is a part of Kirmaşan county, they threw stones at their windows and destroyed the building.

During May and July 2013 three members of Yarsan followers by the name of Hassan Razavi, Nikmard Taheri and Mohammad Qanbari to have protest discrimination and indignity of their minority, just had self immolated and this was after forcing to shave a prisoner mustache of Yarsan follower Kiyomars in Hamadan prison. In any case mustache is indignity to Yarsan mores.

After this case the young Yarsan follower Hassan Razavi from Hamadan city protested and had self immolated in front of Hamadan governorship and died of acute burn the next day in hospital. In the morning of 4th May 2013 the other Yarsan follower Nikmard Taheri also protested and had self immolated in front of the camera and died of acute burn after an hour.

According to the same source, indignity and protests begun from 26th February and it is still continuing till this moment. Beside all these, another Yarsan follower house was targeted to destroy.

On Sunday 28th February in about two thousand Yarsan followers who are based in Eslamabad-e Gharb to disapprove such an indignity protested in front of county apartment and declared statements in presence of Nasradin Heydari’s son the one of Yarsan elder, after few hours protesters all got scattered.
