31st March was the 68th anniversary of execution of leader Qazi Mohammed, who was the President of Kurdistan Republic in Mahabad, and his allies.
After collapsed the Republic of Kurdistan the president Qazi Mohammed and a number of ministers of that government had been arrested by the Shah Regime of Iran.
On 26th Jan 1947, a special team headed by Gholam Hossein Azimi reached Mahabad to prosecute Qazi Mohammed, Sedir Qazi and Seyf Qazi. In an open court Qazi and his comrades had been accused by: manipulating the Map-border of Iran, Proclaiming independency, occupying part of Iran’s land in the name of Kurdistan, Oil trading with Soviet Union without consent from the Shah Regime, outlining Kurdistan border, joining all Kurdistan parts, creating Kurdistan flag and creating Kurdish Currency. Therefore, the death penalty had been applied on them.
Later on 31st March 1947, Qazi Mohammed, Seyf Qazi and Sadir Qazi were hanged in public place at “Chawarchra Square” in Mahabad by the Shah Regime.
Before hanging of Qazi Mohammed, he left a wills and behest to Kurdish nation, in his will asked Kurdish nation to unite and empower themselves and never trust enemies. Prior to his hanging he asked the officer do not blindfold me and “I would like to proudly look at my beloved land to the last minute of my life. You are hanging one Qazi Mohammed but I ensure you that each drop of my blood will be a thousand of Qazi Mohammed. I ask Kurdish nation to strive for Kurdistan independency. Long live for Kurd and Kurdistan”.
Today, in order to make Qazi’s wishes and the wishes of all strugglers who gave up on their life for freedom for all they had done in past, Kurdish nation day after day are close to freedom.
Although, Qazi Mohammed had been executed for sake of his nation years ago but today throughout Kurdistan, people memorize him and his flag is flying on the Rojava of Kurdistan, and people are on his path.
