Charlie Hebdo’s editor Charb: Today I am Kurdish

Charb-CharlieHebdoStephane Charbonnier who was the etditor of the newspaper Charlie Hebdo, was one of many of the innocent journalists who were murdered in Paris, recently wrote an article about the war going on in Syria and Iraq October 22, 2014, his touching words attentive founded and has been translated into English.

Editor Stephane Charbonnier saluted Kobanê resistance in his article as following: “I am not a Kurd, I don’t speak Kurdish, I even can’t tell the name of a Kurdish writer. Kurdish culture is unknown to me. Oh yes, sometimes I eat Kurdish food. Forget everything. Today I am Kurdish, I think like a Kurd, I speak Kurdish, I sing Kurdish. I cry Kurdish. The Kurds of Syria are not only Kurds. They are humanity fighting barbarism. They protect their lives, their land and their children. They represent those that fight ISIS. They don’t only fight radical Islam; they fight barbaric gangs in order to protect all of us.

Can we trust the coalition that fights barbaric executioners? For many reasons some of the coalition members have different strategic, political and economic interests in this fight. Today, it is the Kurds who the ones that stand against the death.”
