Apathy in education is the most significant reason on why Kurdish children are lagging behind

According to medical health deputy of Sine province, compared with other provinces in Iran, statistics show that Sine has the second highest illiteracy rate after Sistan and Baluchestan provinces. He stated that apathy towards education is among most important reasons in Kurdistan, however he did not point out why people lack interest in public school education.

Iranian officials claimed after Sistan & Baluchestan, Sine province is the second most illiterate state and lack of interest in education holds the highest share in the cause, yet according to World Health Organization, literacy is one of 10 factors in health and well-being.

In a meeting, Sine’s medical and healthy deputy stated that only in one village named Sarvabad, 81 children have been lagged behind in education for various reasons.

According to experts young Kurdish students are forced to study in a language that is alien and unfamiliar to them and that is the main reason for lack of interest in education among Kurdish students.

Next to forbiddance of education in any non-Persian language, poverty and children’s forced labor for securing family’s finance are other barriers in Education of children in Iran.
