Demonstration of Meriwan citizens in support of Shengal (Sinjar) and Military raid of regime forces
Around 100 people organized a demonstration in support of Shengal (Sinjar) and Kobani and condemning the attacks of ISIS terrorists in Meriwan (eastern Kurdistan, Rojhelat) which was attacked by police forces.
The Firat News Agency (ANF) reporter said: On Thursday 14th August 2014 at 6 PM around 100 people of Meriwan organized a demonstration in support of Shengal and Kobani and condemning the terrorist attacks of ISIS terrorist but it was attacked by the police forces.
People of Meriwan after gathering, from the Shabrang crossroads start moving towards the main crossroads that following the attack of Iranian regime’s armed forces the demonstrators dispersed.
The local sources told the ANF reporter, though the demonstrators dispersed but still it is not clear that anyone is in custody or not.
After the attack of ISIS terrorists on Shengal and Mexmur in southern Kurdistan and displacement of hundreds of thousands of people, aside from this the unprecedented resistance of Guerrillas, people and Peshmerga forces brought a great excitement to all four parts of Kurdistan, especially the cities of Rojhelat such as Kirmashan, Ciwanro (Javanud), Meriwan, etc.
Also in these cities people held campaigns for collecting aid to support Shengal. On Saturday, the civic activists of Kirmashan will hold a huge marching protest in front of governor’s building in support of Shengal. The campaign of people’s aid in Mariwan also continuing to its activates.
