After evacuation of the town of Maxmur (Makhmur) and Kurdish refugees camp in Maxmur from the terrorist groups and forces of Islamic States of Iraq and Syria known as ISIS, by the People‘s Protection Forces (HPG) and Free Women Union Forces (YJA-STAR) and Peshmerga forces, Mr Masoud Barzani made a visit to the Maxmur and meet People‘s Unite Protection forces.
Mr Barzani also made a visit to the forces stationed in Gharachogh mountain and had a private meeting with YPG’s commanders Heval Zagros. In his visit to the Maxmur, Barzani honoured YPG’s defensive measures against the ISIS members.
Barzani’s visit took place after PUK Political Committee Member Mr Adel Murad said that the involvement of the HPG, YJA-STAR, YPG and YPJ forces made a significant changes to the powers, particularly ISIS offensive attacks and at the same time their involvement helped Peshmerga forces to maintain their courage, which significantly strengthened Peshmerga forces positions to fight back and re-capture the areas controlled by ISIS on 3rd of August 2014. Mr Adel Murad also stated that this is the first step toward the national unity of the Kurdish people against terrorism in the region.
