13 executions during last week in Iran

These days, while talks continue to move throughout Iran’s nuclear case with the so-called powers of 5 + 1 which has increased a terrible wave of executions in Iran.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), 15 prisoners have been executed in Urmiye, Ahwaz and Semnan last week.

Based on the report, Majid Jalili Ayan, a 37 year old, from the city of Salmas had been sentenced to death on the charge of murder and rape by the branch. The family and lawyer were not informed of the execution.

Majid Jalili Ayan was hung along with Vahid Pazhuhide, Ghader Anbori and Aslan Amui Milan in Urmiye Prison under the charge of murder.

On Thursday, May 15th, another prisoner was hung in Semnan prison.

According to a report by Fars, “A-S” was hung on a charge of murder.

Last years, Human Rights Activists had identified 170 death row prisoners who are charged with murder in the central prison of Urmiye.

Mehr News Agency also reported the execution of 9 prisoners in Karoun Prison in Ahwaz. They were charged with drug trafficking and have been hung on April 12.

In this regard, Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) Executive Council issued a message on the fourth anniversary of the execution of 4 PJAK (Free Life Party of Kurdistan) members. Ferzad and his followers called on the Iranian government to take concrete steps towards a resolution of the Kurdish question and to halt executions.

According to the statistics of Human Rights Activists, last year, 654 prisoners were hung in Iran which is 24% more in comparison from the year before.

Although international organizations have condemned the Iranian regime to increase the capital punishment plus human rights violations but the pressure is more focused on the issue of Iran’s nuclear program in recent years.
