ANF, BEHDINAN – Guerrillas of the Kurdish movement organized a commemoration ceremony for Sakine Cansız, a co-founder of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), Fidan Doğan, the representative of the Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) in Paris, and Leyla Şaylemez, member of the Kurdish youth movement, who were executed in the French capital Paris on 9 January 2013.
The commemoration ceremony at Martyr Mehmet Karasungur guerrillas’ memorial in Media Defense Areas was attended by hundreds of guerrillas including executives of the KCK (Kurdistan Communities Union), PKK (Kurdistan Workers’ Party), KJB ( Kurdish Women’s Movement )and YJA ((Free Women’s Army) , as well as commanders of the HPG (People’s Defense Forces) and YJA-STAR ((Free Women’s Troops).
The ceremony which began with one minute’s silence continued with the speech of Koma Jinên Bilind (KJB) Coordination member Roza Pınar who vowed to lead the freedom struggle of three Kurdish women and all other martyrs up to victory.
Pınar emphasized that dominant powers have subjected Kurds to all kinds of attacks in order for the destruction of their identity and language throughout the history of Kurdistan, but Kurds have defeated this ideology and policy in the person of the PKK and their leader Abdullah Öcalan. “Kurds are no more an enslaved people. They are moving towards freedom and have the power to attain their status through their own will. By today, the attainments of our forty years-old struggle have reached highest level”, she underlined.
Remarking that the Paris conspiracy was executed in order to prevent Kurds from attaining status and the accomplishment of their attainments, Pınar said the new process initiated by the Kurdish leader was intended for a solution for not only the Kurdish question but also the entire Middle East region. She said this was an intervention to capitalist modernity against which Öcalan developed the democratic modernity as an alternative system.
“Women’s movement has played a significant role as the leader of the democratic modernity for many years now. The Paris conspiracy was contextually executed against this paradigm leader Apo formed. It is an ideological attack against free living”, she said and remarked that the Kurdish people and movement have defeated this conspiracy through the struggle they gave and the resistance they displayed.
Sara, Rojbin and Ronahi comrades were the leaders of free living, Roza Pınar said and continued with the following remarks about Sakine Cansız; “She was a comrade who has created values for the Kurdistan revolution with the struggle she gave for 40 years. She is the identity of free living to us. She was a leading individual for all of us with the resistance she displayed, and her commitment to freedom. We learnt to resist and to insist on free living from our comrade Sara. She set an example to us with her determined and assertive stance for buildiing a new and free life.”
Pınar said Rojbin, Fidan Doğan, was a significant actor who offered a significant insight for the introduction of women’s liberation ideology and the leader’s paradigm, and played an important role in international diplomatic area.
Roza Pınar remarked that Ronahi, Leyla Şaylemez, also had a high level of participation in the works of the Kurdish youth movement, choosing to lead a free living against the enslaved living imposed by the capitalist modernity.
Pınar pointed out that the PKK and PAJK movements would take many responsibilities for their comrades Sara, Rojbin and Ronahi, noting that they have launched a new process of struggle for the building of free living. “This is the phase of Democratic Nation’s liberation. It is the process of freedom, equality and democracy, as was announced by the Leader on Newroz Day”, she added.
Remarking that all the martyrs of the Kurdish struggle fought to lead a free life with their own identity and will in Kurdistan, Pınar said fighters of the Kurdish movement will make the dreams and purposes of all martyrs real in 2014 when -she added- they will give their answer to their martyrs.
“We promise Sara, Ronahi ve Rojbin, and all martyrs of Kurdistan, that we will ensure the freedom of our leader and build a democratic nation and a free life in 2014”, she added.
