12 primary school students unable to attend classroom in Shinawe village, due to lack of treatments

EAST KURDISTAN, PIRANSHAHR — On December last year, 31 school girls in Shinawe village in Piranshahr were severely burned in a fire accident and three of them died.

The Education Administration was held responsible for this disaster. In a few days, the schools will be re-opened, but the numbers of injured students are still untreated.

According to the representative of Piranshahr town Resul Xezri (Rasoul Khezri) in Iranian Parliament, the face surgery will begin in September for 12 students. For that reason, another 15 students are able to attend in a class. However, 12 others are not able to attend the class.

Resul Xezri said; because of the trauma of the fire accident, along the social and psychological damage and the education backwardness special classes need to be opened to these children.

He had emphasized that children are injured in needs some certain things so that they frequently have to leave the classroom for sometimes. For that reason, they must have their own special classrooms.

The representative of Piranshahr in the Parliament also mentioned that those children have to be given social benefits, because their parents are constantly on the search for treatment or having to look after their children. Consequently, they have lost their jobs.

Resul Xezri also mentioned of the 60 million tomans, 50 million of insurance is not transferred to the bank accounts of the victims yet. However, the insurance agency has broken their promises repeatedly.

While it is passing nearly a year since the fire disaster, unfortunately the dangerous heating appliances are still used in the classrooms in many schools in Kurdistan.
