ANF, Murad Kusiri — “Shirin Ebadi” lawyer, Iranian human right activist and winner of Nobel Peace Prize said the national leader of Kurdish nation “Abdullah Ocalan” should be free in order to this peace stage among PKK and Turkey gain success.
Shirin Ebadi attended a conference in Stockholm, Sweden which was held by “Harald Edelstam” institute. Ebadi in an interview with Firat News Agency talked about the peace process stage in Turkey and said she is very happy that the prime minister of Turkey “Recep Tayyip Erdogan” positively answered the Ocalan’s call for peace and she also acknowledged this is an important step for peace and hoped that the rights and freedoms of Kurdish nation will be restored.
Ebadi stipulated that for acceleration of peace stage and positive progress, Ocalan should be free.
Ebadi in continuing of her speech mostly talked about the violation of human rights, Syrian policies, and nuclear program of Iran in the conference. She acknowledged that in Iran hundreds of students are in jail just because of condemning the policies of regime. Ebadi also thanked the “Edelstam” institute because last year they granted their special prize to the “Behare Hedayet” the women and students movement activist and added: “The Iranian regime is very angry because of granting the prize to the “Hedayet”, because “Hedayet” proposed the students issues and their situations in prisons”.
Nations in Iran are against nuclear centers
“Shirin Ebadi” while pointing to the Iran’s “nuclear centers” said: “Iranian regime is insisting on creating nuclear centers. United Nation also put heavy sanctions on Iran and it is people who are getting damage directly not the system. The nations of Iran are against nuclear centers. The disaster which happened in Japan concerned the nations of Iran also”.
She also reminded that people are unhappy about the policies of regime towards Syria. She added: “Iranian government give financial and military supports to Syria. This escalates more war and bloodshed. Almost hundred thousands are died and millions of citizens are also displaced”.
Ebadi noted that struggle is the granted right of nations.
Iran in terms of execution and jailed journalists has the first place in the world
According to the report of “Amnesty International” Iran after China has the second place in regard to the execution of prisoners, but if we evaluate them based on their population Iran will be in the first place. Iran also in terms of jailed journalists has the first place in the world”.
