NEWROZ TV- Kurdistan Workers Party issued a statement in relation to the week of Heroism and 27th anniversary of the death of Commander Mehsum Korkmaz, known as Egid.
The statement of PKK states:
The days of Heroism of every nation are the days of expression of its existence and identity.
The week of Heroism is the reminder of resistance of Mezlum Dogan that is coincided with Newroz, in which he resisted heroically against the brutality of Turkish government. This week also is the reminder of a period that Comrade Egid while establishing an unbeatable guerrilla movement was martyred. Endurance, discipline, bravery and decisiveness of Comrade Egid as one of the commanders of step, 15 August 1984, have been undoubtedly the main reasons for succeeding.
While reminding that still the graves of some Kurdish leaders such as Sheix Se´iyd, Seyyed Reza and Commander Egid are not clear, PKK added: the bodies of thousands of heroes of four parts of Kurdistan should be transferred with dignity to a specified location.
The PKK emphasized that the way that the Kurdish people have supported new phase proclaimed by our leader, Abdullah Ocalan is a sign of succeeding the way of Egid.
