Establishment of platform of justice for Roboski massacre

NORTH KURDISTAN, — 28 December 2012 is the first anniversary of Roboski massacre. In a dark night, Turkish fighter jets raided Roboski village and massacred 34 innocent Kurds that all were from one village and one extended family.

In this massacre, young and juveniles Kolbers (back carriers) from Roboski village were targeted by Turkish fighter jets and massacred, a massacre that Kurdish history has seen so many of such tragedies.

Despite, one year after this tragedy, Turkish government has been completely silence and has tried to cover up this crime and to prevent the persecution of those responsible. But Kurdish nation demand justice.

Around 850 Kurdish political and civil parties, organizations, groups, etc. in Northern Kurdistan have created “Platform of Justice for Roboski”.

Hussein Bardakchi a member of coordination of this platform, said; “estabishment of this extensive platform has been unprecedented. As the massacre of Roboski was committed in obvious way, it is not possible to cover it up. Roboski should not be forgotten and those responsible must be prosecuted.”

“The platform has been established in Amed with the cooperation of many political and civil parties and organizations. We have many plans in Amed for the anniversary of Roboski, including rallies, demonstrations, etc. to condemn this massacre and respect those who lost their life in this massacre”, Barakchi added.

He also said: “Turkey must apologize for this heinous crime”.
