Five Kurdish Political Prisoners to Be Retried

EAST KURDISTAN, — Ehmed Temuy, Yusef Kake Memi, Eli Ehmed Suleyman, Cehangir Baduzadeh and Mostefa Eli Ehmed, five Kurdish political prisoners will be tried again by Revolutionary court.

According to Human Rights Activists News Agency, Hrana, on 11 October the 5 Kurdish political prisoners in Urmiye prison were transferred to the intelligence service of Urmiye. In interrogations they were accused of having connection with foreign Medias and Dr. Ahmed Shaheed, the United Nations Special Rapporteur for Human Rights in Iran and with human rights organizations. During the last two months they were not allowed to meet their lawyers and families. In addition, they were subjected to severe torture, inhuman and degrading treatment.

According to this report, Eli Ehmed Suleyman and Mostefa Eli Ehmed were transferred to the Urmiye prison while only Ehmed Temuy was transferred to the Rajai-Shahr Prison, Karaj, for unknown reason and the first meeting of his trial was also held.

Cehengir Baduzadeh, Ehmed Temuy, Eli Ehmed Suleyman, Mostefa Eli Ehmed and Yusef Kake Memi, respectively were sentenced to life, 15 years, 5 years, 10 years and 7 years in prison for being member of PJAK or having a link to this party by Urmiye Revolutionary court.
