Year 2012 was the year of sanctions against Iranian government

The year of 2012 is the year that most sanctions against Iranian regime accrued although, this year has not been ended yet, the new package of sanctions has been introduces by U.S. Senate and ready for the final approval by Obama administration.

The Iranian diplomacy: the year 2012 had the most sanctions against Iranian regime. Although the year of 2012 hasn’t been ended yet, new wave of sanctions has been introduced and passed by the U.S. senate and ready for final approval by the Whitehouse. The renewal of sanctions may cause the history to repeat itself which means more hardship for Iranian government to trade with international community. Barak Obama, the president of the United States signed a package of sanctions against Islamic republic of Iran’s central bank on the last few days of 2011. The world community decided to act again with new sanction against Islamic republic at the end of 2012. The following articles are added to the table of sanctions.

  1. December 31, 2011 congress passed sanctions against the central bank of the Islamic republic of Iran; Barak Obama signed the sanctions and thus became a law.
  2. January 23, 2012: Iranian trade bank for their alleged involvement in Iran’s weapons program was targeted for sanctions. On the same day, the European Union held a sanction against the central bank and Iranian petroleum agency.
  3. February, 6 2012: president Obama signs a law that put a sanction against Iranian financial organization to not have any trades with foreign countries.
  4. March 2012: the European Union ban swift to provide any financial services to banks that are under the sanction.
  5. March 20, 2012: 11 countries were exempt from the sanction that was imposed on Iran by the United States.
  6. July 1, 2012: EU oil embargo against Iran.
  7. July 31: Obama extends sanctions against Iran’s national oil industry.
  8. August 2012: standard charter was charged for violating the United States laws of sanctions against Iran.
  9.  October 9, 2012: ratification of penalty for American based corporations which cooperated with Iranian government.
  10. November 30, 2012: senate approves sanctions against Iran, including shipping, shipbuilding, energy and metal.
