OSLO, Norway, — Bunch of Kurdish protestors comprised of women and youths seized the state-run TV—NRK in a bid to draw attention to the ongoing hunger strike sustained by Kurdish prisoners in Turkey’s prisons.
Norway state run TV, NRK was seized by Kurdish protestors amid a demonstration initiated by a group of Kurdish women of East Kurdistan and Committee of Kurdish Women in Norway.
The protestors believe that Norwegian media have kept silent in the face of ongoing suppression of the Kurdish people by the occupiers of Kurdistan. “To protest against continuation of such a silence we decided to organise such a move”, they said.
Amid the seizer of NRK the protesters chanted; “Your silence kills the Kurds, freedom for political prisoners, no to censorship, we support the Kurdish hunger strikers in Turkey’s prisons, freedom for Ocalan,” and despite interference by police they managed to seize the building, make their way to News Centre and deliver their message to them.
