Kurds take control of several cities in West Kurdistan

NEWSDESK, — Kurdish people in West Kurdistan have taken control of several other cities in peaceful and democratic way. A military checkpoint in Qamishlu was also taken control of today, reports said.

The Units of Civil Protection coupled with the masses of Kurdish people today attended a checkpoint on Qamishlu-Amude road in a bid to extend their influences over the Kurdish areas.

The Units of Civil Protections and the masses of Kurds took control of a military compound in a peaceful and democratic way in a sharp contrast to what has been portrayed of the Kurdish movements by the Western media as violent.

In a similar bid the Kurds took control of Derik city with no bloodshed, local sources said, seizing all the military compounds of the Baath governments.

The military personnel in these sites were convinced by the Units of Civil Protection that any attempts to stay in militarily would turn futile. Hence they withdrew peacefully with no bloodshed.

Kurds also took control of Derbisi and Tiltemor cities on 9th November in a similar manner. Highly exhausted Assad’s forces were convinced that military confrontation with the Kurdish forces was of no use left the city peacefully.
